Even the solo developer behind AETHUS needs a sick day, but that hasn’t stopped a fresh wave of quality-of-life fixes and failsafes from landing with Version 1.019.
Cliffside Ramp Gets a Second Chance
One of the more frustrating moments in AETHUS was misplacing the Cliffside Ramp and having to live with your mistake. That’s no longer the case. You can now move the ramp after placement, saving you from awkward terrain geometry headaches. Additionally, the ramp’s ghost no longer appears twice as large as the actual object—a visual bug that made placement confusing.
Critical Failsafes for Key Progression
The update adds failsafe handling for two major soft-lock scenarios:
- Drills in CRYSTAL CLEAR now have a safety net if something goes wrong
- Losing the Omicron keycard no longer means a dead run
“I’m a bit under the weather so I’m pushing the latest bugfixes and will be back to more significant changes tomorrow.”
Crafting Window Fixes & Mycelial Immunity
A pair of crafting window bugs have been squashed. The Auto-Open Crafting Window setting no longer triggers when the facility is unpowered, and switching between powered and unpowered facilities won’t break the UI. More critically, the player is no longer immune to mycelial spores if their antigen buff expires while inside an infected area—restoring the intended danger of lingering in hazardous zones.
This patch is lean but smart, targeting the precise pain points that could ruin a survival run. With the developer promising “more significant changes” later this week, AETHUS continues to tighten its survival loop one bugfix at a time.
