AETHUS just got a whole lot friendlier for builders. Patch 1.025 is live now, and it’s all about making your Outpost layouts less frustrating and more flexible—plus the game has been selected for the Earth Appreciation Festival 2026, with a 20% discount dropping this Sunday.

Snapping Gets Smarter and More Flexible

The headline changes in Version 1.025 target the snapping system in Build Mode, addressing one of the most common pain points for pioneers trying to design efficient bases.

  • Changeable snap points – You can now switch the ‘start point’ on the 3-Way Connector, Cargo Habitat, and Core Habitat. This means you can use any entrance as your anchor, unlocking many more configurations without needing to disable collision.
  • Disable snapping on demand – Hold (CTRL) by default to place objects freely, even inside the ‘snap boxes’ around hab entrances. Great for tight spaces or creative layouts.
  • Larger snap boxes – Snapping now requires less precise movement, making connections feel smoother. If the bigger boxes get in the way, just use the new disable-snapping keybind.
  • Context-sensitive UI helpers – The build UI is now smarter about showing you what you need.

“This should improve things and get rid of the worst pain points you might have felt being unable to get the right layout for your Outpost.”

Earth Appreciation Festival and First Discount

AETHUS has been chosen as an official selection for the Earth Appreciation Festival 2026, which kicks off today. The festival highlights games about nature, eco-dystopia, and resource exploitation—right in AETHUS’s wheelhouse.

Your first chance to grab the game at a discount starts this Sunday:

  • 20% off for two weeks
  • Begins at 5PM BST / 10AM PST / 6PM CET

If you’ve been waiting for patches before diving in, this is your cue. The developer also notes that the official Discord is now nearly 2,500 members strong, and feedback is still being taken on Steam Discussions. This patch shows a developer who listens—and the discount makes it a great time to see what all the snapping fuss is about.
