The patch, rolled out on April 22, 2026, focuses on making your base-building life smoother, with several key quality-of-life tweaks that streamline inventory management and construction.
Storage Snapping and Smarter Inventory
The headline feature is the new storage snapping system, allowing facilities like crates and containers to snap together for easier organization. This directly addresses a top community request and makes warehouse layouts far more intuitive. Alongside this, the ‘Deposit All’ button now smartly excludes items in your Hotbar, preventing accidental dumping of your go-to tools or weapons. A new Lockbox storage option has also been added to the Trade Node, giving players a secure spot for valuable goods.
Construction and UI Improvements
The ‘Snap boxes’ system has been reworked to only apply to valid snaps, eliminating the frustration of placing items that hover in mid-air near habitat doorways or the crater. The default keybind for Disable Snapping has been changed to SHIFT to resolve conflicts with Rotate Construction. Additionally, the Customization Station now unlocks at RAPP level I (down from II) and costs just 1,000 credits (down from 1,250), making it accessible much earlier in the game.
