The latest AETHUS update dropped on June 23, 2026, and it’s a tidy little patch that tackles a handful of specific bugs. Version 1.036 doesn’t overhaul anything — it just cleans up some oddities players ran into.

Comically large tools and double memories

First up, the devs fixed some comically large drill bits. You know the ones — they looked more like cartoon props than functional mining gear. That’s gone now.

They also disabled the ability to queue up Stub Memories. This was causing them to double-play accidentally, which probably wasn’t the intended cinematic experience. No more accidental memory stacking.

Scanning and dialogue tweaks

There’s a fail-safe check for the Reactor Fuel Rod pickup dialogue — so that conversation should trigger properly now, without weird edge cases breaking it.

The Core Containment scan got a couple of quality-of-life changes:

  • The scan’s trigger zone is bigger, so you don’t have to pixel-hunt for the sweet spot.
  • You no longer need to be inside a habitat to scan. That’s a nice flexibility boost for explorers who prefer to work from outside.
