SUMMARY: Blight: Survival’s September 2025 dev update details enemy model work, Blight visual effects, combat testing, and the Nightstalker.

The Blight: Survival team posted a development update on September 12, 2025, covering their recent progress across combat, enemy design, and the game’s central infection mechanic.

Senior 3D Artist Leo created a fresh base body for a new enemy type, packed with detail and decay. Concept Artist Ana then did a quick paintover on that model to refine how it fits the game’s world. The team uses concept art throughout development, not just at the start, as designs keep evolving.

The Blight itself is getting visual experiments. They’re testing different colors and styles to capture that creeping infection feeling. The goal is for the Blight to interact with terrain, wrap around objects, and make the world feel threatening. What they’ve shown so far is still early work.

Combat keeps changing with each internal build. They’re tuning the feel, flow, and animations but aren’t ready to show fresh footage yet. However, one dev built a test arena called the World Blight Boxing Championship to try out enemy encounters. The arena even has a crowd of Rattlers watching.

Eagle-eyed readers might spot the Nightstalker lurking in the corner of that arena shot. It’s still a placeholder model, but it’s already giving playtesters and devs nightmares. The team is currently focused on nailing the core gameplay loop — making sure it’s fun and gives players clear goals — before moving into deeper systems like progression and long-term structure.
