The Dune: Awakening team closed several lower-population worlds today, May 26, 2026, and rolled out their Server Migration system to rebalance populations. If your world isn’t on the closure list, you can keep playing normally — no action needed.

For players in affected worlds, there’s a Character Transfer process. When your world closes, you’ll choose which world to move to from the Server Browser. Your bases get redeployed using the Base Reconstruction Tool, and vehicles back up into the Vehicle Backup Tool with a new “Auto Transfer” section. One catch: any inventory inside vehicles gets dropped.

“We know many of you are feeling uncertain about these changes. Some of you have told us you prefer quieter Worlds or enjoy playing solo.”

The developers are also working on Self-Hosted Servers and expanded Private Server features for players who want a more private experience. Moving to a private server is a one-way trip — you can’t transfer that character back to an official world.

How to claim your tools

If you don’t already own the Base Reconstruction Tool and Vehicle Backup Tool:

  • Press Escape (or Start on controller)
  • Open Claim Rewards
  • Collect both tools

For bases designed for a specific location, you can use Snap to Origin to reposition it automatically. If someone already took that spot in one Sietch, you can try another.

Worlds closing today

The list covers Asia, Europe, and US West regions. Some of the bigger names getting shut down include Calypso, Leto, Meridian, and Helios. Popular worlds like Pax and Harmony have limited migration slots, so the team wants most characters spreading into less populated worlds instead.

That’s the trade-off they’re asking for — a healthier overall population means leaving some quiet worlds behind.
