Funcom announced that Dune: Awakening hits PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22nd, 2026. That same day, they’re dropping the long-awaited single-player mode on all platforms, plus the final chapter of Book One’s story.
This isn’t just a port. The console versions pack the full PC experience from launch day, including every update, fix, and feature rolled out since. You get two graphics modes: Performance (60fps, default) and Quality. It’s on Xbox Game Pass from day one, supports Xbox Play Anywhere with cross-progression between Xbox, Microsoft Store, ROG Ally, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The game’s also Steam Deck verified and works with GeForce Now. One catch: no cross-play between console platforms or between Steam and consoles.
Single-Player Is Finally Here
Players asked for this constantly. When you start the game, you choose between single-player and multiplayer. Single-player offers three preset difficulty levels or full manual customization — tweak experience gain, enemy toughness, or harvesting speed.
“All the NPCs are there, but no other players.”
The Deep Desert stays fully open with its content and challenges. The map never resets, and your buildings never wipe. The Coriolis Storm remains but hits less destructively. The Landsraad endgame simulates other players’ faction conflict to keep things competitive.
What Else Arrives on September 22nd
New and returning PC players land on Arrakis with everything added since launch, plus the September content drop. This is the “best version” of Dune: Awakening yet, according to Funcom — the whole Book One story from start to finish, playable solo, with friends on a private server, or on a big multiplayer server.
Funcom calls September 22nd a milestone, not just a console launch.
