The solo developer behind Rooted is heading to Game Camp 2026 as a guest of Epic Games. The event takes place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Universite Catholique de Lille in France.
Solo Development Panel
The developer will share the stage with Mickael Bougis, who handles Unreal Engine business development at Epic Games, and Romain Piquot, founder of Road Rug Studio and the creator of Derelicts. Together they’ll talk about what it means to build a game solo with Unreal Engine 5 today.
The talk will cover:
- The tools that make solo development possible
- The choices you make when you wear every hat
- Where the engine carries you and where you have to roll up your sleeves
“Two solo-built games, one engine, and the people who make it.”
A Personal Invitation
The developer called the invitation from Epic an honor and a great chance to exchange with other Unreal Engine fans. They’re not sure yet if they’ll have material worth sharing afterward, but they’ll try to bring some back. If you’re around Lille and curious about indie or solo development, they’d love to meet you there.
