On June 17, 2026, the team behind RuneScape: Dragonwilds announced a major overhaul to how crafting works. When Umbral Sands launches, your existing Fletching Benches and Smithing Anvils will be destroyed. The resources will drop right there for you to rebuild with the new system.
What Changes and Why
Mod Deluxe and the team split the old single-bench approach into four distinct stations. Each one now has a clear, dedicated purpose. The old setup funneled everything into the Smithing Anvil, which made navigation a mess.
The player feedback was very clear that navigating and filtering the information was difficult when everything was packed into a single bench.
Here’s the new lineup:
- Blacksmith Bench — Tools, 1H and 2H weapons, shields, crossbow limbs, quest items
- Fletching Bench — Shortbows, longbows, crossbows, arrows, bolts, and ranged gear
- Mystic Forge — Staves, capes, and Ascension Cores (more on those soon)
- Armour Bench — Head, body, and leg armor for all three combat styles, plus cape slot items
The Fletching Bench got a visual facelift too — new mesh, new art, and a distinct silhouette so it stands out from the other stations.
What This Means for Players
You’ll need to rebuild your benches to get geared up, on top of hunting Sanguine Urns to raise your max HP cap. The split means you won’t have everyone crowding one station, and progression should be clearer. The team calls this restructuring “future-proofing” for expansions down the line.
The Mystic Forge in particular is setting up future rewards, though they’re keeping specifics under wraps for now. You’ll hear about Ascension Cores and their purpose in the near future.
