The 0.12.1 update for RuneScape: Dragonwilds lands at the end of July 2026, and it’s the last stop before players face the God-Eater herself. Developer Jagex confirmed this on July 8, 2026, calling it the final step before the end of Kuldra’s Saga.
Scorned Wilderness Isn’t a Normal Update
Previous major updates added expansive continents with new regions, resources, and quests. Scorned Wilderness is different. Jagex describes it as “the culmination of our learnings from everything we’ve built” so far. It’s not the end of the journey — they promise more content after launch.
“She is here: the pinnacle of dragon creation, the queen, fused with divine blood and now housing the elemental power of my kin.” - Rasthin
What the Raid Looks Like
Jagex calls this a Raid — a high-end challenge for players or groups. You’ll fight through a landscape torn apart by wild anima and Black Dragons, crossing floating islands while the God-Eater attacks you from above.
Kuldra has multiple heads, each channeling the fury of Gielinor’s dragons. If you’ve fought dragons on the mainland, you’ll recognize some of her attacks. She shares heritage with other Dragonkin experiments, but she’s more than the sum of her parts.
Rewards and What’s Coming
Defeating Kuldra lets you harvest resources for:
- Ancestral Robes
- Black Dragonhide gear
- Rune Armour
Jagex plans to share a full breakdown of Agility and a Dev Diary covering 0.12.1’s features before the update drops. They’re keeping the road map open after Scorned Wilderness, but for now, the only way out is through.
