On July 13, 2026, the Solarpunk team posted a development update covering their current work and future plans. The game’s recent review score sits at 86% over the last 30 days, with the last 7 days hitting 90%. The global score is around 82%.

Cross-Platform Multiplayer is the Big Goal

The developers are rebuilding the multiplayer system from the ground up. The current setup isn’t stable enough and ties them too tightly to individual platforms.

“Our goal is that in the future you can play Solarpunk together across platforms — whether you are on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch 2.”

They stressed this work isn’t stopping other improvements. Bug fixes and new content are still happening in parallel. This technical change should fix existing multiplayer issues and create a foundation for future features.

Feature Voting and New Additions

The team launched a feature voting system at solarpunk.featureupvote.com. You can submit requests and vote on suggestions to help shape the roadmap.

Other confirmed work-in-progress items include:

  • Furniture with inventory — dressers and cabinets will get their own storage space
  • Character editor improvements — two new character models shown as a first look
  • More decorations, flowers, and plants
  • Solar panels for sloped roofs
  • More quality-of-life improvements and stability fixes

The devs say a larger update is on the way, but they’re not showing everything yet. If you want to support them, a Steam review helps.
