The next big update for Space Engineers 2 drops on July 6. Developer Keen Software House announced VS2.3 “Drive, Automate & Detonate” will arrive at 5 PM UTC, bringing a pile of new toys and systems to the sandbox.

What’s in the box

This update finishes the Mechanical Blocks lineup with Wheels and Hinges. You’ll also get Warheads for proper destruction — the “Detonate” part of the title is literal. On the automation side, they’re adding core tools: a Timer, Sensor, and Event Controller.

VS2.3 will bring the final Mechanical Blocks (Wheels & Hinges), explosions and destructive Warheads, and core Automation tools (Timer, Sensor, Event Controller) to the game!

Exploration and combat changes

The update doesn’t stop at blocks. They’re expanding exploration with new planetary stations and Endless Encounters. Combat gets a boost too, with unspecified enhancements. Under the hood, Survival progression and Ore Distribution are getting foundational reworks.

Community previews

Starting June 30, community creators are dropping preview videos every day leading up to the July 6 livestream. You can find them on the official preview page. The release stream runs on both Twitch and YouTube.

The roadmap and feedback links are already live on the Space Engineers 2 site. July 6 is when the countdown ends.
