Keen Software House dropped Hotfix 2.3.0.2788 for Space Engineers 2 on July 9, 2026, targeting a long list of stability problems and bugs.

Stability Fixes

The patch squashes a ton of crash sources. You’ll find fixes for crashes in block placement, Havok physics, networking, and inventory systems. Here’s the full list:

  • Fixed crashes at BlockPlacementAlignment.UpdateAlignment and BlockPlacerNetworkStories.DeleteProjectedBlock
  • Fixed crashes in HavokLargeWorldManager and HavokSessionComponent
  • Fixed a crash caused by AccessViolationException in Havok physics
  • Fixed crashes in HttpConnectionPool, InProcessReplicationSessionComponent, and InventoryEffectsSessionComponent
  • Fixed a crash in Missions.Progress.ProgressTrackers.GridBuiltInAreaProgressTrackerComponent
  • Fixed a crash in VoxelPhysicsComponent.UpdateChunkAsync

They also fixed hangs during texture loading, multiple freezes, and multiple GPU crashes.

Gameplay Fixes

Beyond the stability work, the hotfix addresses a few annoying gameplay issues:

  • Fixed block placer stopping detection of ships after a short flight
  • Fixed projections being placeable inside blocks
  • Fixed the first-person camera sitting inside the Pioneer character model
  • Fixed character sliding when switching from jetpack mode to walking while holding the Drill

“Please keep in mind that VS2.3 is still an Early Access and playable Alpha version of Space Engineers 2.”

The team notes one known issue still on the way: falling particles show up when the character isn’t falling. It’s a small visual glitch in an otherwise hefty stability patch.
