This week, Star Citizen kicks off Alien Week 2026 alongside a planned Live Service maintenance window.
Alien Week and Maintenance
On Wednesday, June 17, the Alien Week 2026 festivities begin. Players are encouraged to gather friends, souli (members of a Banu guild), pyā’hai (Xi’an family), and allies from across the stars to celebrate. The event follows International Bar Citizen Weekend, which marked First Contact Day at studios in Austin, Manchester, Frankfurt, and Montréal.
Also on Wednesday, a Live Service Maintenance window is planned for both Star Citizen and the RSI platform, with more details to come. The same day brings the latest Roadmap Update and Roadmap Roundup, including multiple new cards for Alpha 4.9.
Tech Talk and Newsletter
Thursday, June 18 features Star Citizen Live at 14:00 UTC on Twitch, a Tech Talk with Chief Technology Officer Benoit Beauséjour and Gameplay Engineering Director Jens Lind discussing the recent 4.8 release. Players can submit questions on Spectrum for a chance to have them answered live.
Friday, June 19 brings the RSI Weekly Newsletter, recapping the week’s highlights and standout community content. Players must opt in to the Newsletter in their account settings.
The team continues working to improve the Live experience, following a Spectrum post last week addressing reported issues in Alpha 4.8.1. For players, this week offers both a celebration of alien cultures and a look ahead at the next major patch.
