The latest patch introduces The Return of Xenothreat, offering five ship combat contracts. Players can board an Idris, defend civilians, and directly engage Xenothreat forces. Successful pilots earn new unique and powerful blueprints while pushing back the invaders. The development team is monitoring player feedback on event performance.
Roadmap and Development Focus
A new Roadmap Update outlines content plans for July and August. The corresponding Roadmap Roundup details an initiative to improve the overall Star Citizen experience. Following Alpha 4.8, the team has refined bug-fixing prioritization, bringing together Development, QA, Player Experience, Community, and Senior Leadership to target issues with the greatest gameplay impact. Alpha 4.9 will focus on stability, quality-of-life improvements, and foundational fixes, while additional time is given to validate underlying technology for Alpha 4.10 and beyond.
