The Great Wipe is done. Stars Reach has reset its galaxy, and players now step into a universe with fresh systems, updated visuals, and a whole lot to explore. Developer Raph Koster and the team aren’t leaving you to figure it out alone — they’re hosting a Fireside Chat on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10 AM Pacific to walk through the biggest changes, highlight key features, and tease what’s coming on the road to Early Access.
A Final Tour of the Old Galaxy
If you missed last week’s community event, you’re in luck. The team recorded the whole thing — a tour of planets and some of the greatest player builds from before the wipe. It’s your last look at the old galaxy, preserved on video. The recording is available now for anyone who couldn’t make it.
Press Coverage Keeps Rolling In
The buzz around Stars Reach isn’t slowing down. New articles have popped up across the web:
- MeinMMO (English and German) asks if the game will be good but says one thing already makes it better than all other MMOs
- Polygon calls it “a wild bet on the future of online worlds, 30 years in the making”
- RockPaperShotgun quotes Koster: “You can literally reroute a river into a desert and cause it to bloom”
- The Financial explores why this sandbox MMORPG could reshape the genre
- JeuxOnLine (French) covers how the game bets on player creativity
On top of that, NoClip published a video with Raph Koster discussing Star Wars Galaxies and design challenges. A second NoClip feature is coming soon, focusing on the history and evolution of massively multiplayer games.
