Subnautica 2’s third hotfix just dropped, and while it’s a small patch, it’s packed with quality-of-life fixes and creature tweaks that should make the deep a little less deadly.

DLSS Overhaul and Stability Fixes

The biggest headline here is the upgrade to DLSS 4.5, which addresses several crash-causing issues and ensures settings save correctly. Frame Generation is now available across all versions, so players with newer GPUs can finally enjoy smoother framerates without fear of a hard lock. Unknown Worlds also squashed a rare crash when starting games and fixed a multiplayer bug where clients would revert to their previous position after rejoining a session—a welcome fix for co-op divers.

Creature Behavior and Balance Changes

The team is clearly listening to feedback on creature interactions. The Hammerhead no longer attacks unpiloted Tadpoles, but will still investigate them—adding a layer of tension without instant punishment. Marrowbreaches deal more damage but attack less frequently, while Nibblers have been reworked: their perception range is shorter, they circle longer before striking, and they’re more sensitive to the Multitool. Their damage is up, but their movement speed is down, making them a more predictable threat.

Building and Gear Adjustments

Interior Wall costs have been slashed to 1/4 of their previous price, making base customization far more accessible. The Strike Armor modification no longer stacks additively, preventing a game-breaking state, and goggles no longer linger in first-person view when exiting the Tadpole’s Haul Chassis as a passenger.

This hotfix doesn’t rewrite the ocean, but it tightens the screws where it counts. For a game in early access, these targeted fixes show Unknown Worlds is paying close attention to player pain points—and that’s exactly the kind of support Subnautica 2 needs to keep its community diving deep.
