subnautica-2

Following last week’s admission from developers Unknown Worlds that the survival game’s creature-avoidance tools weren’t effective enough, the first round of creature behavior tweaks has arrived in a new hotfix for Subnautica 2.

Marrowbreaches and Nibblers rebalanced

The hotfix targets two specific creatures, making them more threatening while also giving players clearer ways to evade them:

  • Marrowbreaches now deal more damage and are more aggressive, but their attacks are preceded by a longer, more visible wind-up animation, giving players a better window to dodge.
  • Nibblers have been made “more dangerous” overall, but their behavior has been adjusted to make them easier to outfox once players learn their patterns.

What this means for players

The changes represent the first step in Unknown Worlds’ broader effort to address player feedback about creature encounters feeling unfair or unavoidable. For now, survivors will need to pay closer attention to Marrowbreach tells and adapt to the Nibblers’ revised behavior to stay alive.
