The Subnautica 2 Adaptive Measures update (Early Access 1.1) dropped on July 8, 2026. It’s a free automatic download — if it doesn’t show up, restart Steam.
Quality-of-Life and Community Changes
The big one: a FOV slider is finally here. That’s marked with a 🤿 icon in the patch notes, meaning it came directly from player feedback. So did two creature behavior fixes — most creatures now flee after being hit by the Survival Multitool, and the Sonic Resonator puts them in a brief dizzy state instead of triggering instant retaliation.
Gameplay and Progression Tweaks
The Biomod system got a lot of attention. You can now unlock six total Biomods from Biolabs (up from four), with two new labs in Coral Gardens and Axum Ruins. Scanning creatures with the Bioscanner unlocks extra passive Biomod slots, and you can see exactly how many scans you need. Creative mode just unlocks all Biomods by default now.
Wreck exploration is smoother too — more traversal and oxygen puzzles, consistent door/button visuals, and shuffled rewards.
Movement and Misc Fixes
You can finally sprint on land — on the surface or inside your base. Default walk speed got reduced to balance things out, and sprint is remappable in settings.
Other small stuff: particle fish group up better now, and the Perisco got its missing scan data icon.
