It’s been just under two months since Subnautica 2 entered early access, and developer Unknown Worlds took to X to celebrate with some hard numbers. The studio shared official statistics on what players have accomplished across over 58,000,000 hours of combined playtime.
The Drowning Stat That Stands Out
One stat jumps out: roughly 192 players have drowned every minute since launch. That’s a lot of oxygen mismanagement. Unknown Worlds didn’t sugarcoat it — they posted the figure alongside other milestones, making it clear that the ocean’s still winning.
Other Player Milestones
The post also highlighted a few other achievements from the community:
- Over 58 million hours of total playtime logged.
- Unknown Worlds called it a “celebration” of early access success.
No word yet on how many players got eaten by leviathans, but given the drowning rate, the ocean’s definitely keeping busy.
