subnautica-2

The fourth hotfix for Subnautica 2 dropped on July 14, 2026, and it’s a tidy little patch. The devs are still watching community feedback, so keep reporting bugs through in-game tools or their support site if you run into trouble.

What Got Fixed

This hotfix tackles a few specific annoyances that were blocking players or breaking immersion:

  • Angel Combs not opening for some players — that was blocking progression entirely
  • Water currents appearing inside player bases, which messed with movement, got players stuck, or stopped them from building and expanding
  • FOV slider not showing on Xbox
  • Two low-volume crashes: one on Xbox when trying to join a session invite, and another related to creature spawns

A Word on Mods

If you’re running Subnautica 2 with mods, the devs have a clear message:

“If you play Subnautica 2 with mods, please temporarily disable, remove, or uninstall them before launching the game following the hotfix.”

Community mods won’t be updated for compatibility with this hotfix yet, and they might cause crashes or weird behavior on launch. Once mod creators update their stuff, you can re-enable everything.

The hotfix is rolling out worldwide now, and Xbox players will get it once it clears certification.
